
What is a HoneyMoney list?
HoneyMoney is a honeymoon gift list service - adding a new twist to the traditional wedding list, HoneyMoney allows you, as a couple, to create a honeymoon wish list featuring various elements of your honeymoon that you would like to receive as wedding gifts. This gives your wedding guests the opportunity to give you something that you'll always treasure - your honeymoon memories.
How does it work?
Step One:
Register and create your HoneyMoney honeymoon gift list. Our website is designed to allow you to create your own list online using a template. This allows you to put whatever you like on your list and include as personal detail as you wish. Click here to see a sample list. When you register with us you will be allocated an Account Manager who will be on hand at all times to help you research your chosen honeymoon destination and come up with ideas and suggestions for your list.
Step Two:
Notify your guests – we provide you with notification cards detailing our website and phone number to include in your wedding invitations.
Step Three:
Sit back and receive your gifts! Every time a guest buys you a gift, you will receive an email notification telling you who has bought you what.
If you prefer not to receive emails, you will be able to log in and view the purchases that have been made at any time. Your ‘Thank You Card Manager’ will show you who has bought which segments and keep an eye on the running total of contributions. At a time specified by you, you will receive a lump-sum payment of all your guests’ contributions.

How much does the service cost?
We charge a set-up fee of £50.00 (see below, for special promotion) for your HoneyMoney list and apply a service fee to the items in your list. For your £50.00, as well as getting your own HoneyMoney list, we will provide you with notification cards for your invitations, and provide you with your own wedding homepage, linked from your HoneyMoney list, where you can include details about your wedding for your guests’ information. What’s more, if your guests spend more than £2,000.00 total with us, we’ll refund your £50.00 set-up fee – a gift from HoneyMoney towards your honeymoon!

What is the service fee and what is it for?
We charge a 9% service fee on gifts purchased from your HoneyMoney honeymoon list. This will be deducted from your total gift fund when we transfer the honeymoon funds to you. The services covered by this fee include but are not limited to:
Secure online/telephone transactions
Gift registry updates
Gift acknowledgments
Thank You Card Manager updates
Notification Cards to include with your invitations
Bank transfers
We liken the costs incurred in the service fee to the cost of your guests buying wrapping paper, card, postage and packing, etc.
Is our money safe?
Whilst there has been considerable concern recently over the failure of a high profile wedding list company, we would like to re-assure our customers that HoneyMoney operates in a very different way from most other wedding list companies. As we do not buy any of the gifts on your behalf, but merely transfer the funds to you, as a result we do not have any credit agreements with any suppliers and therefore are very unlikely to go into arrears. Couples are free to request their honeymoon funds to be transferred to them at any time.
HoneyMoney is an established company, trading since November 2004, since which time we have continued to go from strength to strength. This gives us a considerable advantage over many of our competitors who are new to the industry and are in the precious ‘start-up’ phase.
All credit/debit card payments are processed by Worldpay (part of the Royal Bank of Scotland Group) and no details are collected or retained by HoneyMoney. Couples can choose to have their funds transferred to them at any time. Couples' bank details provided to us for the purpose of transferring funds are recorded in an offline system and are destroyed once they are no longer required. HoneyMoney is a Limited Company, meaning that we are subject to strict reporting procedures by Companies House, and our records are publicly available therein.
As a company HoneyMoney has been highly recognised within the business world. How do we let family & friends know we’re registered?
We provide you with a supply of notification cards. These cards feature our website address and phone number for your family and friends. They are business card size and can be included in your invitations.
Do you make the arrangements for extracurricular activities?
We do not make reservations for extracurricular activities, e.g., diving, sunset cruises, picnics, massages etc. We simply collect the gift payments and provide a lump-sum payment to the couple prior to their honeymoon. Couples have the flexibility to use these funds to finance the activities they choose to do while on their honeymoon.
Who do we book our honeymoon through?
Anyone you like! As the HoneyMoney list you set up is a ‘virtual’ list, you are free to book your honeymoon with whichever travel agent you wish. We are happy to recommend companies we believe can help you create a dream honeymoon, and if you book through one of our affiliated companies, we will waive your set-up fee. However, it is entirely up to you who you decide to book with. You can even wait and see how much money your honeymoon fund has accumulated before you finally book your honeymoon.
Can you help us put ideas together for our honeymoon?
Yes, all of us at HoneyMoney are travel mad so we like nothing better than researching an exciting holiday! Once you have registered with HoneyMoney you will be assigned a personal Account Manager. Our Account Managers deal with hundreds of honeymooners and are full of good suggestions and ideas of places to go and things to do whilst on your honeymoon. Your Account Manager will be on hand at all times to help you research your honeymoon list.

Can we include other information, for example details of our wedding?
Yes, we will provide you with your own web page where you can include details of your big day, including a link to your venue or a personal website, if you like. We will provide links between your wedding web page and your HoneyMoney list page. This is a great way of letting your friends and family know all your wedding details, especially for those travelling from out of town.
What about our more traditional friends who don’t feel comfortable contributing to our honeymoon as their gift?
You can always include some more traditional gifts on your HoneyMoney list. This works in the same way as your honeymoon gifts – we do not buy the gifts for you, rather collect the money on your behalf and provide a lump-sum payment prior to the wedding. You then have the flexibility to buy the items you want after you return from honeymoon. Or why not include luggage, travel accessories and designer sunglasses for your honeymoon?
How will we know if a gift has been bought for us?
You can go online at anytime to check your HoneyMoney list and see what has been bought for you. A ‘Thank You Card Manager’ showing all the gifts purchased will be automatically updated with each transaction, allowing you to see at a glance who has bought you what, and any message they have included. This also helps you to keep an eye on your running total of contributions. You can also opt for an email update to be sent to you every time a new gift is bought for you.
What about guests who don’t have internet access?
The HoneyMoney team will be happy to help your guests buy gifts over the phone. Alternatively, your guests can send a cheque to the HoneyMoney accounts office at 71 Lake Road, Bristol, BS10 5JE – your guests should write on the back of the cheque your names and date of wedding, and can include a message if they wish.
We will notify you whenever a gift has been bought over the phone or we receive a cheque for you, but please note that gifts bought over the phone or with a cheque will not show on your Thank You Card Manager as this is linked to the internet payment processor.
When and how are funds transferred?
We can either send you a cheque, or do an electronic funds transfer directly to your bank account, whichever suits you best. You decide when you would like your money - most couples schedule one payment for a few days before the wedding, and one a couple of weeks afterwards to cover any last-minute gift buyers.
What happens if our wedding is cancelled or postponed?
If your wedding is postponed, just let us know the details and we will update your honeymoon date on your HoneyMoney list.
In the instance of a cancellation, if we've already transferred the money to you for your gifts, then it's up to you to return any gift money to your friends and family. For gifts where we have not yet sent you the money, just contact us and we will refund all of your guests' credit cards.
